Sun damage and the effects of ageing can leave skin looking tired and prematurely aged, resulting in skin imperfections on the face and body. VPL™ uses carefully filtered light energy to target the different structures within the skin to reduce imperfections and improve skin texture and tone.

Collagen is the substance in our bodies that keeps our skin looking youthful and smooth. As we age, our bodies naturally produce less and less collagen, resulting in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The carefully filtered light from VPL™ systems stimulates fibroblasts cells in the body to produce more collagen. This new collagen moves outwards to the skin's surface resulting in a smoother texture, smaller pore size and reduced fine lines and wrinkles.

FAQs

IPL Rejuvenation IPL Rejuvenation

How does it work?

The use of Variable Pulsed Light helps to increase the rate at which the skin generates collagen - a natural component of young looking skin, it plumps up the skin reducing the appearance of fine lines. The light emitted from the VPL machine 'tricks' the skin cells into thinking that they are damaged. When this happens, the skin will want to repair itself by producing new skin cells. This results in younger looking firmer skin with fewer wrinkles.

How many treatments are needed?

Treatment, undertaken at regular 3-4 weekly intervals, can be seen as an ongoing skin care programme for clients of any age.

Does skin colour make a difference?

IPL Rejuvenation IPL Rejuvenation

All skin types can be treated and skin colour makes little difference to the benefits of the treatment. But it must be emphasised that the treatment works best on skin that is at its most natural colour (i.e. Not tanned) .

Are there any side effects?

In some cases, slight redness and irritation may occur on the treated area (like sunburn). There is also a small risk of pigment change following treatment which will settle with time and a small minority of patients will develop bruising or blistering which again settle with time

Is it safe?
